Today, I had a little fun playing with some toy snakes. The snakes were segmented, so they could be split apart and built on each other to form a continually longer snake. I started out by experimenting with a 10 segmented snake. I asked the question of myself, how many ways can I fold this snake? By folding the snake, I mean ways I can turn each segment of the snake at a 90 degree angle to form a pattern. I concluded that there are multiple solutions of right and left, and even straight. That was pretty interesting. From there, I added on more and more segments of snakes, including adding heads to every end. This created a sort of fractal image, which was pretty neat if I do say so myself. I continued to experiment the different ways the toy snakes could be put together to form new and interesting combinations. Who knew?
